Campus Beautification

Two people who exemplify what it means to support students are trustee Bob Archer and his wife Jan.

You will find the Archers on campus for lectures, musical events, theater events and museum openings. You will also see them at a variety of sporting events, with Bob greeting athletes’ parents by name—many of whom he knows personally.

Beginning last autumn, Bob and Jan Archer issued a challenge across the state of Ohio. The Archer Challenge Grant is an initiative designed to encourage people to join them in support of Ashland University’s campus facilities and grounds. Every dollar donated to campus beautification will be matched by the Archers, up to $1 million.

Projects in this initiative include campus beautification items such as sidewalks, exterior lighting and landscaping; maintenance items such as parking lots and roof repair; and capital improvement items such as renovations to the Chapel and the Physical Education Center lobby and locker rooms.

Giving to this initiative means that Ashland University will continue to be a valued part of both the Ashland University family and the wider Ashland community.

Landscaping of the Military Service Members & Veterans Center

We’ve renovated the former Brethren Church National Office to accommodate our new Military and Veteran Center. Upon completion, we’re looking to create a beautiful landscape around it. Your gifts to this initiative will go directly to campus beautification surrounding this center designed to help military and veteran students transition back to school and civilian life.
