I’ve never been one to know what I want to do for the rest of my life. I used to joke that Mike Rowe had it good, testing out other jobs and later getting to talk about his experiences.
Senior year of high school rolled around and I found something that was perfect for me. I visited Ashland University because my Mom and Brother both attended here, but also because it was near Ashland High School, where I graduated. After attending a Future Eagles event and talking with future students and professors, I was elated. I ended up interviewing for the Ashbrook Program, as well, I told myself, if I was accepted, I was going to AU.
Now, I happily have two majors, digital media journalism and political science. The classes, along with the professors, have shaped me a lot in just the two years I’ve completed. I’m now the Managing Editor for Ashland University’s student news, AU-Live, and have learned that with hard work and a clear goal in mind you can accomplish almost anything. I’m glad I found my true passion and can’t imagine doing anything else.
