Ashland has been my home for the past five and a half years. I have been so fortunate to work with so many great students, faculty and staff. My story is a personal journey that allowed me to transform during a pivotal moment of my personal and professional career. I started the MBA program during a busy season of work at AU. A couple of months later, we learned we were expecting our first child. I was determined to finish my degree. It was tough and, thankfully, the faculty and staff in the MBA program continued to encourage me to “keep on” and grind it out. I had my son at the end of September and graduated two months later in December. I learned that I could truly do ANYTHING I wanted as long as I had the mental focus to do so. This was one of the best life lessons, and it was through AU that I learned to persevere. Walking across that stage at graduation was worth every late night, early morning and the in-between.
