When you’re here on campus, it can sometimes feel like the world is really small, but through the Study Abroad program, Ashland starts to feel like a legitimate gateway to the rest of the world. I remember when my plane landed in Taiwan and I had this moment of panic. I felt lost. The world suddenly felt huge, and I had this moment where I realized that, even though I had almost completed my business degree, I didn’t understand how the business world worked on a global scale. But in the next moment, I was so grateful for having this kind of opportunity because I could experience it and still have the safety net of being able to continue to learn what I needed to before I graduated. That entire experience was life-changing.
