My first experience at Ashland University was in 1975 when I was a junior in high school. I attended a Basketball/Volleyball camp run by Ruth Jones and Carol Mertler. That experience helped fuel my passion to become a coach. Ten years later, Fred Martinelli hired me to become the Women’s Basketball and Softball Coach at Ashland. During my time at Ashland, I had the opportunity to work with many outstanding individuals including Dr Martinelli, Dr Shannon and Sue Martensen–all of whom helped me grow as a coach and teacher. I am very proud of being a part of the longstanding tradition of women’s athletics at AU, and I am forever grateful for the wonderful experiences I had there while coaching so many talented young women. I also met my husband Tom there, so AU will always be a special place for both of us.
