During my time at Ashland, they didn’t have enough dorm space, so I lived in a house with 12 other girls and a house mother. I worked as a campus operator, waitress, and babysat for several professors. I was raised in the Pittsburgh area, and always thought I would return there after graduating from college. But after paying my parents back for the money they spent on tuition for me, I ended up settling in the Ashland area because this community had such an enormous impact on me.”
