My friend Shawn taught me how to longboard one day during my sophomore year. I was really bad at first, but by the end of the day, we were cruising around campus and through the town’s streets. We’d met through The Well and lived on the same floor, but the experience that day was what cemented a real friendship between us. We had planned to live together for our junior year, but he ended up switching to a major AU didn’t offer. Even though he transferred to a school in Michigan, we still, even to this day, plan a few adventures to go on each year.
