I was a quiet girl from a small town and the first in my family to go to college. I was overwhelmed in so many different ways. So overjoyed, but also not sure college would be for me. I’ll never forget the day my mother dropped me off at AU. As a freshman in band, I arrived early for band camp, got settled and was incredibly nervous. However, the nerves soon subsided as my first few weeks at AU were turned into one of the best experiences of my life. AU Band was not just an organization. We were a family. A family that expected commitment and had lots of fun.
