Alumna

Class of 2018

Growing up, I visited AU frequently as my father has been an employee with the university for 15 years. I always loved coming to campus with my dad and spending time with him in the bookstore or eating at Convo. I loved AU as a child, and I knew that I wanted to be an Eagle upon graduation. When I started at AU, I was undecided. I must have changed my mind five times before I decided to pursue help from a career counselor.

Upon reaching out, I connected with Oscar McKnight, who I believe is a tremendous asset to AU, and he helped me sort out my thoughts and dreams. He connected me with the marketing department, and it was a perfect match. I was intrigued by my course content, I found all of my professors to be knowledgeable and I believe that they genuinely cared about me and my future.

It was a course requirement to complete an internship in your field and if I had not taken an unpaid position at the Historic Ohio State Reformatory, I never would’ve had the experience to land the role of Special Event/Convention Guide on my Walt Disney World College Program or the position of Group Sales Event Coordinator Intern at Cedar Point. I believe that my internships have been invaluable to my career search since graduation, and I am eternally grateful to AU for pushing me to take advantage of those opportunities.
