Ashland University has always been a special place for me. I grew up around the Ashland area and was always around the campus. When I was younger, I danced in the Nutcracker at Hugo Young, and I was amazed at how beautiful the campus was. As I got closer to graduating high school, I knew Ashland had to be an option for college. I toured a few other schools, and Ashland was the last. As soon as I set foot inside the building on the nursing campus, I knew this was home. No other school I toured could even compare to how beautiful and modern Ashland is. We were unsure at first if Ashland would be a possibility because it’s a private university, and we thought it would be very expensive, but I was blessed to be awarded a scholarship, so I could make my dream a reality. I will be going into my third semester in January, and I have never regretted my choice to become an Eagle. The faculty is fantastic, the class sizes are small, and it’s easy to get to know people. I have met some amazing people with whom I am excited to share the rest of my journey! Ashland does a great job of placing the “Accent on the Individual.” I’ve never felt like there was anyone I couldn’t go to if I needed something. The professors know your name, and you build a relationship with them, which is really amazing. I can’t wait to continue my journey through nursing school!
