Ashland University has always had a special place in my heart. As a daughter of an employee, it was the only chance I had of achieving a college education. But, little did I know it would have such a big impact on my life. AU has gifted me not only an amazing career as a nurse, it also gave me friendships I will cherish for the rest of my life. The afternoon before my first day ever as a college student, we got the news that one of my best friends from highschool had passed away. I was devastated, to say the least. But, I went to class, and persevered through that first day and every day after. Soon, I started meeting people who had also lost friends. AU gave me a support system that I wouldn’t have found otherwise and, for that, I am forever grateful.
