I went to Ashland University on softball and academic scholarships. I was also an Ashbrook Scholar. While I was playing softball my senior year, I was recruited to play in Europe. After graduation, I went to Europe for three seasons; one in the Netherlands, one in Italy and one in Switzerland. When the economy tanked in 2009, many of the teams lost corporate sponsorships (which were used, in part, to pay our salaries). So, I decided to retire and go back to my hometown in Alabama. I found a job in the automotive industry, where I worked for seven years (while also getting my MBA) before starting a Ph.D. program at the University of Mississippi in business management in August 2016. I am now a Ph.D. candidate working on my dissertation and expect to graduate in May 2021. I will forever be grateful to Ashland University for my education, experiences, lifelong friends and the amazing opportunities provided to me.
