Alumna

Class of 2003

The first time I visited AU, it instantly felt like home! I made the most of my college experience by attending many events sponsored by CAB and other organizations and taking advantage of the residence life opportunity. I tutored for the College of Business in the Writing Center, led campus tours, worked as an office assistant for the Social Sciences department and served as an RA/SRA in Clayton Hall.

I changed my major four times and was extremely grateful to the very patient career advising staff and all of my amazing faculty advisors. Halfway through my senior year, I woke up one morning realizing that my entire AU student experience had been leading me in the direction of a career in college student affairs. Directly after finals week during my second-to-last semester, I crammed hard for the GRE and was admitted to Kent State’s Higher Education Administration & College Student Affairs M.Ed. program. I am so grateful to all of the student affairs staff at AU for being fantastic role models, even when I wasn’t aware of it at the time. I am now working as the Assistant Director of Academic Advising at Lake-Sumter State College in Clermont, FL. It’s because of Ashland University that I am doing what I love! I couldn’t imagine my life without my four years at AU!
