When I came to Ashland, it was my first time living on my own. I was an 18-year-old jewish kid from southern New York and I was excited. It was a new experience for me. I was a walk-on for the wrestling team and it was a dream come true proving doubters wrong. I wrestled all of four matches for the purple and gold, but by December I had broken my foot. That, coupled with a major event in my personal life, changed things for me. I stopped having passion for all of the things I once did. I stopped caring about journalism and wrestling and everything slipped from my fingers. I wouldn’t go back to AU after that year, but leaving allowed me to see who I’d become and allowed me to grow, change and become someone better. I have since found my love for film and plan to stay out of my own way and follow my passion. I couldn’t have done it without the life experiences I had at AU and I thank God everyday that I went to AU to help me figure out who I am.
