Class of 2013

As a James Madison Senior Fellow from New Mexico, I couldn’t readily find a master’s degree program in my home state that catered to educators. I was at a loss as to how to fulfill the requirements of this prestigious fellowship. I spoke with anyone and everyone about possible programs, and somewhere during this process the Masters in American History & Government (MAHG) program at Ashland University was suggested. From the moment of first contact, I was treated with the utmost courtesy and consideration—and also as a respected scholar and professional! The Ashbrook Center program offered first-rate academics as well as wonderful accommodations. I thoroughly enjoyed every summer I spent at Ashland. I am proud to be an Eagle. Even from long distance, both the MAHG and library staff helped me in any way they could, which I very much appreciated while completing my thesis. I recommend this program to any educator desiring a graduate degree. My only regret is that, as a working teacher with scheduling conflicts, I was unable to attend my graduation ceremony. However, my cap, gown and hood were sent to me, which I now wear at every high school graduation I work, silently yet proudly celebrating my achievement.
