Gather your favorite Eagles and join us for a weekend of Purple & Gold pride! It’s the perfect time to connect with old friends, experience today’s Ashland and show your school spirit!

Join us October 10-11th for Homecoming Weekend 2025 as alumni from all corners of the country come back to connect with friends, faculty, staff, and current students and share the Ashland experience.

A dedication ceremony of the pillars of former Eagle National champion head track and field coach Jud Logan and Olympic gold medalist pole vaulter Katie Moon. Reception to follow at the Niss Center. In the event of rain, the dedication ceremony and reception will be moved indoors to the Niss Center.

Band Alumni Reunion

8 AM – Band alumni are invited to reconnect and meet the new director of bands, Slade Denman. The reception will be in the Robert Troop VIP room. Refreshments will be provided.

9 AM – Have you always wanted to step out on the field and perform one more time? Here’s your chance! Band alumni are invited to perform with the current marching band during halftime! Practice and rehearsal will take place on Martinelli Field in Jack Miller Stadium.

12 PM – Form up at Old Abe near the Recreation Center and march with the band to the stadium.

Halftime- Former director of bands, Joe Lewis Jr, will join Slade Denman to help conduct the halftime performance.

Eagle Scavenger Hunt

9 AM – 6 PM

We’re celebrating the 60th Birthday of Old Abe! Learn about this tradition as you walk around campus to find the eagles on the list. Pick up your sheet at Safety Services located in the student center and return for a small prize. 

Photo Prop Statio

Try on football pads, helmets, pom poms, and other equipment used by Ashland University athletes and pose for a picture! Located at Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, and inside the stadium during the game.

Welcome Station

8 – 10:30 AM

Stop in the lobby of the Hawkins-Conard Student Center and grab a cup of coffee to kick-start your Homecoming celebration!

5K Fun Run

8:15 AM – Check-in begins in front of the Rec Center

9:30 AM Walkers/Runners

In lieu of an entrance fee, we ask that you bring a canned good to benefit a local food pantry.

*Can’t make it to campus? A virtual 5K option is available, and registration is required.

Start off Homecoming with a 5K Fun Run! The first 100 registrants will receive a free t-shirt. A $75 AU Bookstore gift code will be awarded to the first male and female to finish the race; $25 AU Bookstore gift code to the second male and female to finish. Official results will not be recorded. Please, no pets. The Rec Center will be open at 9 a.m. to change and shower before and after the race. For questions, call Rec Services at 419.289.5440.

Surprise 60th Birthday Celebration

Old Abe 
This is the 60th birthday for “Old Abe” at Ashland and we want to celebrate! Did you know that J. I. Case Company gifted Old Abe to Ashland in 1965 to watch over his fellow eagles who had arrived on campus? To this day, Old Abe remains a steadfast and prominent part of campus located in front the Recreation & Wellness Center. So, help us celebrate with the signing of Happy Birthday lead by the AU Marching Band and some birthday cake!
