Jay Pappas was born in Atlantic City, NJ. He graduated from Ashland College in 1972, where he served as Senior Class President. His senior year he interned at WEWS TV-5 Cleveland.
,br> After graduation, Jay worked on-air for radio stations in Atlantic City, NJ; Ocean City, NJ; and Philadelphia, PA.
In 1974 Jay accepted the position of Coordinator of Radio Programming and Production in the Radio/Television Department at Ashland College, later Ashland University. He served in that capacity for twenty-four years.
Jay then joined the Office of Admission and retired as Assistant Director of Admission and High School Relations after ten years of service.
Throughout his career, Jay freelanced doing voiceovers for radio and TV commercials and served as an on-camera spokesperson in medical, industrial, and promotional videos.
Jay and his wife, Linda Sprague Pappas (1972), retired to Midcoast Maine in 2009 and built a home in West Bath. They have two grown daughters and two grandchildren.
